During University of the Pacific’s Homecoming, the Department of History will be hosting three events for alumni, current students and their families! Homecoming will be the weekend of October 14 through 16.
History Department Alumni Career Panel:
Join us for the Alumni Career Panel & Discussion for current history and social science majors. Panelists will discuss careers in law, education, research, historical preservation and marketing/communication. All department alumni are invited to attend to contribute from the audience. What have you done with your history or social science major? Come share your experiences in the job world to support our current students. Reception immediately following panel discussion. The panel will take place on Friday, October 14 at 5:00 pm in the University Center, room 211.
Let’s Roar Together!:
Join history friends and faculty at the “United We Roar: Tiger Rally.” This popular Homecoming event is bound to be even more fun if we attend together. This event will take place Friday, October 14 from 8:00-10:00 pm in the Alex G. Spanos Center. Meet at the University Center stairs at 7:15 pm, right after the Alumni Career Panel & Reception. We’ll walk to Alex Spanos and sit all together during this fun Friday night event.
Athens Besieged! Ancient Greek Games:
Come play with us! In this role playing game with the History and Political Science faculty we re-enact “Athens Besieged”–the fateful winter of 405 BCE when Athens was surrounded by the Spartan Army and Athenians were on the brink of surrender. What will be the outcome? You decide! No advanced preparation or RSVP required. Join us for a fun-filled morning with alumni, faculty, current students and their families. The game will take place on Saturday, October 15, from 8:30-11 am. Please gather at the Memorial columns adjacent to Knoles Hall and the Library.
